The Course

This is an intensive polo course, there will be at least 18 instructed hours per week in the saddle. A typical day will begin with breakfast at 8:30 and then, once you have collected your pony from the field or stall and tacked up, you will go straight out to practice stick and balling for a couple of hours - gruelling analysis may follow! After lunch, and during the heat of the day most people enjoy a traditional siesta.

Once refreshed, the afternoon will begin with either a lesson on those complicated rules or some stable management the Argentine way. You will learn to train your eye for signs of lameness and injuries and to check that the ponies are in good playing condition. You will also learn how to choose the right bit and bridle for a pony and you may be asked to help maintain the tack.
